Our Council

Geelong Grammar School Council

The Geelong Grammar School Council is responsible for overall governance of the School, setting strategic direction, reviewing plans and budgets established by School Management, and related performance monitoring. The Council delegates responsibility for operation and administration of the School to the Principal.

GGS Council comprises 12 members, each a Director of Geelong Grammar School, with the Principal, the President of the Old Geelong Grammarians and the Chairman of the Foundation (or their nominees) being ex-officio members.

The GGS Council acts in accordance with the Charter, which sets out roles and responsibilities, and the Code of Conduct, which defines expectations of individuals.

Full Council normally meets once each term, with abridged meetings held in other months and Committees usually meeting at least once each Term prior.
