1 Pianists presenting for organ scholarships, with little or no experience on organ, may audition on piano
2 Must also be fluent on a second instrument |
Auditions are usually held in the February of the year prior to year level entry.
Click here for current application closing dates and audition dates.
During auditions, applicants will be asked to:
- Perform two contrasting pieces or movements on their principal instrument and perform one piece on their second instrument (if applicable).
- Perform technical work on their principal instrument.
- Take tests of aural awareness and sight reading.
Instrumentalists must provide their own accompanist. In cases where distance makes this difficult, the School may arrange an accompanist.
Note: if a student currently holds a scholarship at another school, this should be disclosed at the audition.
A review of the audition will be sent to all parents, once successful applicants have been notified.
What does a music scholarship cover?
Each year the School awards a number of Music Scholarships of up to 50% of the tuition and boarding fees. The actual percentage offered depends on the audition, coupled with the musical needs of the School.
Awards of over 50% are made in exceptional circumstances. In such cases, parents will be asked to complete a financial assessment form.
Application fees
A non-refundable fee of $50 is required for each application.
