A home away from home
Geelong Grammar School is Australia’s largest co-educational Boarding School, attracting a remarkable diversity of students from across the region, the nation and the globe. Boarding is an integral component of life at GGS - it is our trademark, our special area of expertise that makes us the ‘lighthouse’ of Boarding Schools.
Co-educational boarding shapes our young men and women into vibrant adults as they live and learn alongside each other in a community environment that reflects the real world. A Boarding House celebrates unity, creates its own personality and rhythm and generates a strong sense of family and security. It offers friendship, independence and the mutual exchange of trust.
Our Boarding Campus at Corio is alive in the evening and at weekends with sport, recreation and supervised study – more than 100 co-curricular activities capture the imagination and invite participation.
With student numbers on the rise, GGS has recently begun construction of a new girls' Boarding House - Elisabeth Murdoch House. When completed, this new Boarding House will mean that the Senior School Campus will have a gender ration very close to 50/50.
Enrolment options vary at year levels from day boarders, weekly boarders to full boarders – for each boarder, Geelong Grammar School is like a home away from home.
