In 2006 it was one hundred years since The Geelong Church of England Girls' Grammar School, The Hermitage, was founded at Pakington Street, Newtown. The school moved to more spacious grounds and modern buildings at Highton in 1973 and in 1976 The Hermitage amalgamated with Geelong Grammar School and Clyde School.

At Geelong Grammar School, Corio, a splendid girls' boarding house is named The Hermitage House and here much of the school's memorabilia is on permanent display. The Sanctuary from the Assembly Room, Newtown, is handsomely installed in the Darling Hall, Corio.

In 2009 The Hermitage Old Girls' Association (HOGA) celebrated its 100th Birthday!

We invite you to join us at the functions (listed on HOGA News) which your Committee has organised for you to keep in contact with old school friends. We remind you that the Association compiles a very comprehensive Newsletter (COEEGRAM), which is mailed to all HOGA members who have provided their postal address. Further information about functions, memberships, archives and the Newsletter may be obtained from  President, Deidre Griffiths email:

E-mails can also be sent care of the OGG Office.
