DONOR BILL OF RIGHTS
The Geelong Grammar Foundation (Foundation) and the Geelong Grammar School Advancement Office pledge to uphold the rights enshrined in this Donor Bill of Rights.
Philanthropy is based on voluntary action for the common good. It is a tradition of giving and sharing that is primary to the quality of life.
To ensure that philanthropy merits the respect and trust of the public and that donors and prospective donors can have full confidence in the Foundation and Advancement Office and the causes they are asked to support, the Foundation supports and upholds the following rights for all Foundation donors:

To be informed of the Foundation’s objectives, of the manner in which the Foundation intends to use the donated resources or funds and of the Foundation’s capacity to use donations effectively for their intended purposes.

To be informed of the identity of those serving on the Foundation and to expect the Foundation to exercise prudent judgement in its stewardship responsibilities.

To have access to the Foundation’s most recent financial statements.

To be assured their gifts and donations will be applied for the purposes for which they were given.

To receive appropriate acknowledgement and recognition for their support.

To be assured that information about their gifts and donations is handled with respect and with appropriate regard to confidentiality subject to the requirements of the law.

To expect that all relationships and dealings with Foundation and the Advancement Office will be professional and courteous.

To be informed whether those seeking donations are volunteers or employees of the organisation.

To have the opportunity to remove their name from any marketing or mailing lists which the Foundation may intend to share.

To be able to ask questions when making a donation and receive prompt, accurate and detailed answers and information.
