The Positive Education Schools Association (PESA) is Australia’s national peak, non-for-profit body in the field of Positive Education.

Their 1000+ members include schools, universities, educators, parents, researchers, charities and other community members who share an interest in an evidence-based approach to wellbeing, and a commitment to supporting our schools, students, and the wider community to flourish.

PESA’s vision is for the science of wellbeing and Positive Psychology to be integrated throughout the education system, enabling all students, schools and communities to flourish.  Their mission is to lead, promote, and foster the implementation and development of Positive Education.

PESA runs an annual Positive Education conference which is attended by both educators and leaders from across the independent, government and religious-affiliated sectors, universities, parents, researchers, charities and other community groups.

The 2018 National Conference will be hosted at Geelong Grammar School, Corio, Victoria, on 12-14 April, to coincide with this leading school’s celebration of 10 years in Positive Education.  Over 800 delegates are expected to attend this 3-day Positive Education Retreat. The 3 days will have a heavy focus on wellbeing. The theme for the 2018 National PESA conference is 'CONNECT'.

Keynotes will include

  • Martin Seligman, the founding father of Positive Psychology
  • Georgie Harman, the CEO of beyondblue
  • Prof. Lea Waters, Director of the Centre for Positive Psychology at Melbourne University
