 Which course is for me?

Are you wanting to upskill yourself and staff at your school about the latest and most relevant research into how schools can foster wellbeing across their whole community?

  • Our four-day Discovering Positive Education course provides your staff with  a comprehensive understanding and experience of the science underpinning Positive Education.
  • For those who have already done the Discovering course or other Positive Education training, we are offering a second four-day immersion, covering ten new topics: Discovering More Positive Education.

Are you hoping to gain some specific skills in how you can apply different aspects of Positive Education to improve student wellbeing within your role in the school?

Our one-day courses cover specific skills and areas of interest such as:

No prior experience in Positive Education is required to attend our one-day courses.

Are you ready to take the next step in implementing a whole-school approach to Positive Education?

  • Our one-day Implementing Positive Education course is a collaborative workshop where participants will audit their school and learn how to embed positive psychology into their practices and policies

Are you a member of the Geelong Grammar School community, looking to find out more information about Positive Education?

Every year, the Institute runs Positive Education talks and workshops for the Geelong Grammar School community, including parents and Old Geelong Grammarians. In 2017, these will include Strategies for Living Well and Positive Education for Parents.

How do I get from the airport to the school?

Geelong Grammar School is:

  • 70km (60 minutes) from Melbourne CBD
  • 75km (70 minutes) from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport
  • 12km (15 minutes) from Geelong CBD

Taxi

Catching a taxi is the most direct transfer from Melbourne Tullamarine Airport to the School, at a cost of approximately $AU130.

Public transport

You can get a SkyBus shuttle bus from the Airport to Melbourne City. You would then need to take a train from Southern Cross Station to Corio. From Corio it is about a 1km walk or a short taxi ride to the school.

Gull bus

Gull bus is an airport shuttle from the Airport to Corio village. It is $30 one way or $55 return. Participants will need to catch a taxi to the school from Corio village.

Where can I stay?

Accommodation on the Geelong Grammar school campus is only available, during the course (not before or afterwards), for participants in our four day immersions. We recommend using www.wotif.com or www.lastminute.com for good deals on local hotels.

What are the start and finish times?

These will vary depending on the course. Please see your course overview or our website for further details. However, generally the courses commence at 9.30am and finish around 4pm.

What if I have special dietary requirements?

Most dietary requirements can be catered for. Please specify your requirements on the booking form under the section dietary requirements.

 

Questions specific to residential courses - 

What does my booking fee cover?

Single room accommodation in one of our boarding houses with shared bathroom, all meals and refreshments, evening activities, use of wellbeing centre, training folder and curriculum support booklet are included.

Are there any recreational facilities on campus?

Yes. On campus we have a fully equipped gym, an indoor swimming pool, basketball courts, yoga/Pilates room and various ovals that provide great recreation opportunities.

Is there WiFi?

Yes there is WiFi available on campus. Username and password will be provided day one of the course.
