Learning and Living Positive Education

DPE Landing ImageOur leading Discovering Positive Education programme has transformed thousands of individuals worldwide, helping teachers and schools to flourish.

This multi-day course focuses on the fundamentals of Positive Education, exploring the science of wellbeing and the Geelong Grammar School Positive Education Model. You will have the opportunity to experience the key concepts taught in Positive Education classes, gaining a range of practical skills and strategies to apply to your school.  

You will also appreciate the significant role Positive Psychology plays in sustaining wellbeing and explore foundational concepts drawn from Geelong Grammar School’s whole-school Positive Education programme. 
The course starts with a compulsory online module providing an overview of Positive Psychology. This half-day online module is developed in consultation with leaders in the field of Positive Psychology and outlines the foundations of Positive Education.

LEARNING ACTIVITIES:

  • Promote a deeper understanding of one’s meaning and purpose

  • Prolong positive emotions
  • Enable the state of flow
  • Foster mindfulness and build resilience
  • Sustain positive relationships

Throughout the course, there will be opportunities to share ideas and key learnings about how to embed Positive Education in your school community. You will also receive a booklet to support your learning.

This course is offered in a residential format (including accommodation) in Geelong, and in a non-residential format (without accommodation) in all other locations.

Registrations for international courses close six weeks prior to the date of the course unless stated otherwise.

AUDIENCE

Educators who interested in gaining a comprehensive and personal overview of Positive Education and its impact on student and staff wellbeing.

Participants do not need to have done any prior Positive Education training before attending this course.

Accreditation: 20 professional development hours (25 for residential courses).
