Positive Psychology for individuals, families and communities

What does science say about happiness and wellbeing? This one-day course brings together evidence-based strategies from the science of Positive Psychology to give participants proven methods of boosting wellbeing in their families, their communities and their own lives. Led by the experienced trainers from Geelong Grammar School’s Institute of Positive Education, this course will explore the foundations of Positive Psychology and also give participants the chance to try out key wellbeing activities as taught in Positive Education classes at Geelong Grammar School and in Positive Education schools around Australia.

Participants will take away Positive Psychology skills and knowledge relating to:

  • identifying and using character strengths 
  • nurturing positive relationships
  • mindfulness and meditation
  • resilience and help-seeking.

AUDIENCE

This introductory course is aimed at parents, educators, social workers and anyone who lives or works with children or young people. Participants do not need to have done any prior Positive Education training before attending this course.

This course was formerly called ‘Positive Education in the Community’.
