This unit is aimed at providing students with both a theoretical and practical insight into the fields of Sport Science such as exercise physiology, biomechanics and sport psychology. Areas studied include ergogenic aids, coaching, musculoskeletal and cardiorespiratory systems, components of fitness, psychological strategies to enhance performance, techniques and strategies to promote recovery and the use of technology in Sport Science. It is the aim of the unit that students will develop an understanding of the human body and skills that will allow them to improve their levels of fitness, wellbeing and sporting performance.
