The selection of subjects is an important decision each year. As students move from Year 5 to Year 12, there is a decrease in the number of compulsory subjects and an increase in the diversity and range of subjects for selection.

It is essential that students make their decisions about subject choices after discussions with their parents, teachers, senior students, tutors, and Heads of House. Students in Years 10, 11 and 12 should seek guidance from the Careers Counsellor to ensure that selected subjects are consistent with their career goals and/or keep their options open for post-school years.

The Curriculum Guide remains online throughout the year, with the majority of updates being made in June of each year. That said, rolling updates are made throughout the year. Parents are encouraged to spend time with their son/daughter reading through the relevant sections of the Guide.

June/July: Information sessions about subjects are held at Timbertop for Year 9 students, and at Corio for Year 8 and Year 10 students. A Subject Fair is held for Year 9 & 10 students and an information session is held for Year 10 parents on Careers Day.

During August: Subject choice forms are submitted online at various locations. Attempts are made to satisfy student requests for specific subject combinations, although this is not always possible.

End of Term 3: is the closing date for any subject changes. After this date some subject choices may not be possible.

End of Term 4: Requests for subject changes can be made to the Academic Office (for new Timbertop students requests should be made directly to Timbertop).
