AUDITIONS AND EXAMINATIONS

Students are required to attend an audition and sit an academic exam at the Corio Campus, as per dates above.

Alternative examination arrangements can be made for students who live in remote, interstate or overseas locations and auditions may be conducted via Skype.

During auditions, applicants will:

• Perform two contrasting pieces or movements on their principal instrument and perform one piece on their second instrument (if applicable).
• Perform technical work on their principal instrument.
• Take tests of aural awareness and sight reading.
• Instrumentalists must provide their own accompanist.

Note: If a student currently holds a scholarship at another school, this should be disclosed at the audition.

WHAT DOES A MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP OFFER?

Each year the School awards a number of Music Scholarships of up to 50% of the tuition and boarding fees. The actual percentage offered depends on the audition, coupled with the musical needs of the School.

Awards of over 50% are made in exceptional circumstances. In such cases, parents will be asked to complete a financial assessment form.

STEPS TO APPLY

STEP 1: All applicants must complete the online application form and provide supporting documentation. A non-refundable fee of $50 is required for each application

STEP 2: Students must complete an audition and interview at the Corio Campus, or by Skype on Friday 21 February, 2020.

STEP 3: Students must sit an academic examination on Saturday 22 February, 2020. Registration must be completed via the Edutest link.
