Rural and regional students have been a consistent part of the story of our School since 1855, when the sons of the early Western District pastoralists enrolled at Geelong Grammar School. There have been many examples of philanthropic support over the years for students whose families had fallen on hard times.

We are delighted to be offering the inaugural Australian Regional and Rural scholarship as part of the 2021 scholarship programme. This scholarship is available to new students from remote, rural and regional Australia, who otherwise would not have an opportunity to attend the School.

Students entering from Year 7 onwards are eligible for this award, and a structured mentoring programme will be available to the Scholar both during the time of their attendance at the School and beyond.

The Australian Regional and Rural Scholarship is one of the many scholarships offered as part of the General Excellence Scholarships.
