in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics)

We are pleased to offer the inaugural Richard James Chester Guest Memorial Scholarship to the value of 100% fee remission (awarded for the payment of tuition, day or full boarding fee). This award is for a student entering Year 11 in 2022 of exceptional academic potential in Mathematics and Science, who could not otherwise attend the School without financial assistance.

We encourage students who have an enthusiasm and aptitude for STEM subjects to apply for the chance to shape their exceptional future.

Richard, an Old Geelong Grammarian, was clever, interested, curious and engaged by everything. Graduating as Dux of the School, Richard commenced Law/Science at Melbourne University. Sadly, Richard passed away before his enormous potential could be realised. In his memory, the Guest family wish to aid a student to live up to their potential and change their life path with the all-round education Richard was privileged to have had at Geelong Grammar School.

The Scholarship recipient will be required to:

  1.  Study VCE subjects in Years 11 and 12:
    - Mathematical Methods
    - Specialist Mathematics
    - Any two of Chemistry, Physics and Biology
  2. Have enthusiasm and aptitude for problem solving and a creative mindset
  3. Fully partake in the School’s Creative Education programmes under the mentorship of Creative Education Collaborators

The amount awarded for the payment of tuition, day or full boarding will be based on a 100% fee remission.
