Letter from Hong Kong

The Hong Kong Branch of the Past Parents' Network was disappointed that the annual event scheduled for September 2018 had to be postponed. However, we were fortunate that the GGS community was able to join together at the end of October to welcome the new Principal, Rebecca Cody, who was visiting Hong Kong for the first time.

A most enjoyable evening was held at the Hong Kong Cricket Club with over 70 guests attending including Old Geelong Grammarians, current, past and future GGS families. Rebecca had an opportunity to meet and connect with the international GGS community in Hong Kong and was most appreciative of the warm welcome she received. We hope she will be back in Hong Kong in the not too distant future.

The event was held just after Typhoon Mangkhut brought havoc to Hong Kong. We were still cleaning up and in recovery mode when Rebecca arrived. We were glad that the Typhoon didn’t interfere with this GGS function!

The HK PPN Committee is working towards a confirmed date and venue for an event in the early part of 2019. We are going to team up with the OGGs in order to increase our social interaction.

Given our very mobile and busy lifestyle in Hong Kong, finding a convenient date is a challenge. We will let you know date and venue in due course.

Merry Christmas everyone and a Happy New Year.

Our thanks to Past Parent, Guy Nowell for being the Official Photographer on the night.
