WELCOME SAILORS, PARENTS AND SUPPORTERS TO
GGS SAILING FOR 2019!

Although the Brazier Club is a small club it was great to make our presence known on Family Day. Our rigged boat was a stand out propped in front of our tent on the day. To those families that stopped by it was great to meet you. Thank you to everyone who helped with the day.

Family Day 2019

Regrettably it’s been a very slow start to sailing this year as it’s a sport which is very much determined by the winds. Our teams have experienced the extremes in this regard when sailing was abandoned on our first weekend back at Albert Park due to no wind and then sailing cancelled because of an extreme weather warning at Mornington a few weeks later.

Fortunately last Saturday saw a light breeze which enabled our sailors to get a few races under their belts with mixed results. They have two more competitive Saturday sessions before the State Championships which are scheduled for 28-30 March.

By now you will have received your invitation to the Brazier Club Presentation Dinner. I am delighted to announce that Mr David White, Head Coach and Development Manager at Sorrento Sailing and Couta Boat Club, will be our Guest Speaker.
I especially warmly invite all our Year 5 and 6 new Sailing Parents and their Young Sailors to the Dinner - it would be wonderful to see you there.

As in previous years, we will be running a raffle on the night, so if anyone has any donations that we can use for raffle prizes, they will be greatly appreciated. Please email the details to me no later than than Friday 8 March.
I look forward to seeing you all at the Dinner.

Cheers,

Gina Copeland
