2019 MELBOURNE BIDDLECOMBE SOCIETY LUNCHEON
There was a very strong attendance at the recent Melbourne Biddlecombe Society Luncheon held at Flemington on Thursday 10 October, some of whom enjoyed a pre-luncheon private tour latest racecourse addition: the Club Stand
Jeremy Kirkwood was the guest speaker and those present were grateful for his very candid and open address in his capacity of Chairman of the School Council, a position he has held for 14 years whilst being a Council member for nearly 25 years.
It was therefore very fitting that Jeremy received a standing ovation for his address but also, as a result of his recent announcement of stepping down at the end of the year, recognition for all he has done over a considerable period of time.
Those present included Rebecca Cody, Principal, as well as a past Chairman of Council, a past Principal, council members, Foundation Board members and the President of the Clyde Old Girls Association and OGG President. It was also good to see many familiar people together with some newcomers who had expressed an interest in learning more about the Geelong Grammar Bequest programme and the Biddlecombe Society.
Thanks to Charlie Sutherland, Chairman of the Biddlecombe Society, for steering the proceedings so expertly, which was greatly appreciated by everyone. Nine new pins were presented by Will Jones, Deputy Chair of the Geelong Grammar Foundation.
