GGS COVID-19 Relief Fund

“True compassion means not only feeling another’s pain but also being moved to help relieve it.”

– Daniel Goleman,Emotional Intelligence (Random House, 2005)

At Geelong Grammar School (GGS), our character is courageous, curious and compassionate. Our GGS COVID-19 Relief Fund is an exemplar of compassion in action. By supporting families in our community who are facing financial insecurity and anxiety due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, we are also strengthening our spirit of making a positive difference).

The goal of the Relief Fund is deceptively simple with profound outcomes: specifically, to ensure that no family leaves our School as a result of financial stress caused by the COVID-19 crisis, thereby preventing the upheaval to student learning and wellbeing.

The significant financial impact of COVID-19 will continue for some time. Our School has implemented a range of measures to support our families experiencing financial hardship with regard to the payment of fees. This includes offering a specific, means-tested Bursary initiative, inclusive of an independent assessment. The GGS COVID-19 Relief Fund will sustain the initiative by directly helping families in need who have lost jobs or business.

The GGS COVID-19 Relief Fund galvanises our community to help each other; those who can give will reach those who are in need. If you are able to give, please consider making an online contribution now. Gifts to this fund are not tax deductible yet their impact will be transformational.
