Our Girls' 1st VIII made it four consecutive titles on Lake Nagambie at the annual Heads of the River regatta, leading from start to finish to win in a time of 6:55.38; 3.59 seconds ahead of their nearest rival, The Geelong College. The Rob England-coached crew - consisting of Zoe Burgess, Lucy Needle, Gigi Dunn, Courtney Brown, Emily Richards, Zoe Treweeke, Serena Brookes, Jane Perrignon and Phoebe Naylor (cox) - bounced-back from a disappointing semi final at the Head of the Schoolgirls regatta to dominate the Girls' final on Lake Nagambie.

The Boys' 1st VIII finished on the podium (third) for the first time since 2012 as Scotch College returned to their winning ways, claiming their twelfth Boys' Head of the River title in 14 years.

Other crews to win at the Heads of the River regatta were: the Girls' 3rd VIII, Girls' 10A, Girls' 10B, Girls' 10F, Girls' 10H, Boys' 10A (B final) and Boys' 10B (B final).

There was little time to celebrate, however, as our 1st crews set-off for Sydney and their annual week-long International Rowing Regatta on Monday 27 March. The Girls' 1st VIII are competing in two events - the Under 19 Women's VIII and Schoolgirls' VIII - and finished second in their heat for both events. The Schoolgirls' Coxed IV crew of Georgie Biggs, Sammy Sutherland, Sybila Keogh, Edwina Jackson and Heidi Blyth (cox) also finished second in their heat, progressing to a semi final.

Our Boys' crews have entered five different events at the SIRR- the Men's Under 19 Coxed VIII, Coxed IV and Coxless IV, and the Schoolboys' Coxed IV and VIII. The Coxed IV won a Silver medal; the crew of Daniel White, Oliver Arter, Oscar McLachlan, James Heath and cox, Jamima Jamieson, finished 0.59 seconds behind Newington in the final.
