Lizzie Brand rode Quamby Farm Cloud Street to victory at the Equestrian Victoria Interschool Championships in Werribee between 8-12 April. Lizzie won the Nan McArthur Perpetual Trophy for Champion Individual Secondary School Rider. The combination of horse and rider accumulated the following results to achieve overall victory:

  • Champion in Senior Novice Dressage
  • Champion in Combined Training 60cm
  • Champion in Secondary Working Hunter
  • Reserve Champion in Handy Mount Years 9-10
  • 5th in Novelties Years 9-10
  • 12th in Elementary Dressage

GGS finished 2nd out of 165 schools overall at the annual state championships at Werribee Park. 15 GGS students competed on 19 horses, against more than 460 riders on 600 horses, in the disciplines of dressage, show jumping, combined training, show horse, handy mount and novelties.

The Geelong Grammar School team consisted of: Genevieve Brand, Scarlett Frith, Rosie Allen, Charlotte Blake, Issy Mackey, Jemima Branson, Elizabeth Brand, Millie Ritchie, Amethyst Leslie, Juliette Emery Sherrard, Sophie Sampson, Olivia Batten, Sasha Tivey, Hannah Bufton and Liam Leslie. Special congratulations to Millie Ritchie (on Vuvuzela) winning Champion in the Secondary 1* Combined Training and Olivia Batten (on Phoenician Oakley) winning Champion in the 100cm Secondary Show Jumping. Lizzie, Olivia and Hannah will represent Victoria at the National Championships in September.
