ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS

Geelong Grammar School fosters academic excellence by offering students with strong academic skills the opportunity to participate in our challenging curriculum. 


We are pleased to offer Academic Scholarships for:

• Corio Campus – New students entering Year 10
Current students entering Year 10
• Timbertop – New and current students entering Year 9

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants must be Australian or New Zealand citizens or holders of an Australian Permanent Resident Visa.

Full-fee paying overseas students or Temporary Residents are ineligible to apply.

WHAT DOES AN ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP COVER?

Each year the School awards a number of academic scholarships of up to 50% of the tuition and day or boarding fees; the actual percentage offered depends on the performance of the individual candidate in both the examination and, if shortlisted, the subsequent scholar's interview.

Awards of over 50% are made in exceptional circumstances. In such cases, parents will be asked to complete a financial assessment form.

The scholarship awarded applies to the relevant Geelong Grammar School tuition and day or boarding fee, but not to uniforms, private lessons, textbooks, excursions, sundry charges or other personal items. For additional costs, please contact Admissions, Corio.

EXAMINATION, INTERVIEW AND SELECTION

Please Note: should on-campus testing be unable to proceed due to COVID-19 restrictions, you will be advised of alternative arrangements.

Examinations will be held at the Corio Campus on Saturday 20 February, 2021.

Alternative examination locations may be arranged for students who live in remote, interstate or overseas locations. Alternate examination dates will not be permitted.

Approximately two weeks after the examination, shortlisted students will be invited to attend an interview at the School, pending COVID-19 restrictions. In the event face-to-face interviews cannot proceed, Zoom interviews will be arranged.

Unsuccessful candidates will also be notified of the outcome at this time.

Every effort will be made to adhere to the proposed timeline, all candidates will be notified of the outcome of their application as soon as practical.

STEPS TO APPLY

STEP 1: Students are required to sit an academic examination as part of the application procedure.

Examinations will take place at the Corio Campus on Saturday 20 February, 2021.

Alternate (remote) examination locations may be arranged directly through Edutest +61 3 9014 1411

No further action is required until the examination takes place.

All awards are reviewed annually.
