Gap Assistant Programme

Spend a year living alongside and supporting teaching professionals at Australia’s largest co-educational boarding school.

We offer three distinct Gap Assistant opportunities:

  • Corio Campus: Immerse yourself in the vibrant life of our main campus, supporting academic, co-curricular and boarding activities.
  • Corio Campus – Language Assistant: Share your French or Japanese language skills while supporting students through conversation practice, classroom activities and cultural exchange in the vibrant life of our Corio Campus community.
  • Timbertop Campus: Experience our unique Year 9 outdoor education campus in the Victorian high country, where you’ll support staff and students in a truly transformative environment.

Geelong Grammar School is committed to the safety of all students and has a zero tolerance of student abuse. All employees of Geelong Grammar School must hold a Victorian Working with Children Check (Employment) and provide a National Police Check (or have a VIT registration) prior to appointment.

The School’s Student Safeguarding Framework, which includes the Student Safeguarding Strategy, Student Safeguarding Policy and Student Safeguarding Code of Conduct, is available on the GGS website, under ‘Student Safeguarding’.  The School’s expectation is that all staff members (and School Community members) comply with the Student Safeguarding Framework policies and procedures and the Child Safe Standards, as applicable to their role.  Any queries in respect of this Framework or the School’s expectations should be directed to safeguarding@ggs.vic.edu.au
