Ms Rebecca Cody commenced as Principal of Geelong Grammar School in April 2018.

Rebecca was previously Principal of Methodist Ladies' College Claremont, in Western Australia, a boarding and day school with 1,200 students, from ELC to Year 12. She held this position for eight years and was a highly successful and dynamic leader, significantly building enrolments and confidence in the school. Rebecca's initiatives include the introduction of co-education in the ELC, shared co-ed classes with Christ Church Grammar in Years 11 and 12, and an emphasis on professional learning and development for all staff, including the introduction of Positive Education.

"I’ve sought to mentor students to be motivated and resilient learners who become purposeful young people of character. Through such mentoring, the tenets of holistic education have guided me, and seeking to understand others has steadfastly anchored my style."

Prior to MLC Claremont, Rebecca spent five years as Principal at Woodford House, a prestigious boarding and day school in New Zealand.

Rebecca is a graduate of the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Education (First Class Honours).

She presented the 9th James R. Darling Oration on 20 September 2018, which celebrates the ideals and achievements of Sir James Darling, the School's headmaster from 1930-61 and one of Australia's most inspiring educators.
