Each team has a number of experienced coaches - headlined by Andrew Allthorpe leading the 1st XVIII - working with students to develop their skills and knowledge of the game.

Geelong Grammar School teams are entered in APS competitions, while we have two Girls' team entered in the AGSV/ APS 1st and 2nd divisions. Over 200 students play Football at the School during winter.  

The Football Programme at Geelong Grammar School has a proud history of producing quality players. The School currently has 13 past students on AFL lists: Paddy Dow (Carlton), Brodie Kemp (Carlton), Lochie O'Brien (Carlton), Jye Caldwell (Essendon), Devon Smith (Essendon), Caleb Serong (Fremantle), Nick Stevens (Geelong), Tanner Bruhn (Greater Western Sydney), Brent Daniels (Greater Western Sydney), Oliver Lord (Port Adelaide), Thomson Dow (Richmond), Jarrod Brander (West Coast) and Easton Wood (Western Bulldogs). Nina Morrison (Geelong Cats) is the first Old Geelong Grammarian to play AFLW. 



The Newman Club was founded in 1980 to support Australian Rules Football at Geelong Grammar School. The Club was named in joint recognition of Noel Newman and his son John (Sam) Newman.
