"Music teaches students a different way to express themselves. It enables them to identify and express emotions. It nurtures appreciation and gratitude. It provides balance and teaches skills that cross over into other areas of life."
- Jodie Townsend, Director of Music
Music is an integral and energetic part of our community, nurturing engagement and enhancing positive relationships. The School's broad music programme caters for all students, from the most serious academic to the hobbyist, offering tuition in more than 30 instruments from 42 sessional tutors.
The Kodaly teaching philosophy is integrated across all four campuses, providing a curriculum framework that is sequenced to consolidate skills, and is supported with a vibrant range of ensembles and concert opportunities.
Substantial music and choral scholarships are offered from Year 7. While there are minimum requirements for audition, the emphasis is on attracting students with a desire to contribute to our community.
