We are delighted for all our Year 12 graduates who contributed to strong academic results in 2023, consolidating the improvements made in recent years.

The combined IB/VCE median ATAR for the class of 2023 is 82.90. As an open entry school dedicated to providing an all-round education, we celebrate each student’s performance in delivering their personal best.

Our students are offered a choice in pathways that is aligned to their interests, talents and goals through the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme or the VCE Vocational Major. Out of these tertiary pathways, both the VCE and IB provide our Year 12 graduates with an Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR).

High Achievers

Henry Crutchfield is Geelong Grammar School’s Dux for 2023. Henry completed the VCE, achieving a near-perfect ATAR of 99.90.

Charlotte Nicholson is proxime accessit having achieved an IB score of 44 out of 45, which equates to an ATAR of 99.75.

119 students completed the VCE in 2023, with six achieving an ATAR of 95 or above: Henry, Becky Knowles, Jessica Stapleton, Quimby Yates, Millie Fothergill and Amelia Charleson.

50 students completed the IB programme in 2023, with five achieving an IB score of 40 or above (which equates to an ATAR score above 97): Charlotte, Isaac Dunell, Julia Kent, Kate Wardlaw and Ned Cole.

There were two perfect VCE subject scores of 50, both achieved by Henry, while 54% of our IB students achieved at least one subject score of 7.
